What is your favourite brand? Recently i’ve been really feeling a brand called “Miyuki Zoku” – they stock a lot of clothes with washed out colours and monochromes so it fits right in with my overall wardrobe.
What influences your style? My main source of style inspiration stems all the way back to around 2012-2013 when I was a little weeb kid obsessed with everything Japanese and Korean, embarrassing, I know. However, my love for the culture and fashion just never really wore off, carrying it with me as I grew up and slowly incorporating it into my wardrobe. In my opinion, they have the coolest looking streetwear/ street fashion and I look forward to the day that I can go on my own shopping haul in both countries to pick up some authentic garms. I am very indecisive though so my style tends to fluctuate throughout the year.
How did you dress three years ago to now? So incredibly tacky, I will never understand why I thought red chinos and cheap band merch t-shirts were a “look” – cringe.
Any fashion trends you followed and look back on and regret now? I remember for a while I used to go around wearing a pair of 3D glasses I got from the cinema that had the lenses taken out to look like the real “hipster” glasses. Quite frankly a dark period in my life.
What/who inspires you and your style? As cliché as it sounds, my friends and the people surrounding me mainly. I bounce off of other people’s vibe and style until it becomes my own, think of it as a “fake it ‘til you make it” approach..but with fashion. I’ve noticed since making the move to uni and making new friends, I’ve slowly started to integrate new looks into my wardrobe. For example, I have a couple of friends who are super into streetwear and always in the know about what’s hot and when stuff is about to drop etc. Like I’ve always appreciated it but I never really saw it on myself or how I could make it work for me personally but over time you kind of just develop it until it fully fits your colour – it’s definitely a work in progress.
